Hiya people,

With the loss of yet another Raid Leader and Officer from our guild, I decided to return back to the rank of Officer. Now this means that I’m having to help out alittle in raids doing thngs im not used to like being the loot master.

Noobiewan is now the Loot Master

Noobiewan is now the Loot Master

The role scares me because I don’t know what loot is good for what classes specs. Hunter loot I know and luckily I’m usually the only hunter in the run and have most of the loot that drops from the places we are raiding. But with all other classes I have no idea.

This for me causes a problem because our guild has a system where main specs roll first for an item followed by anyone wanting it for an off-spec should no main spec want it. What makes matters worse is the duel spec-ing that’s going to be brought in soon. My hunter brain can only take so much in at a time. It takes me ages to figure things out.

There’s only one way out! (I learned this one from a Mage!)

luckily have been given some help by Gormy and have been told to get Xloot and Xlootmaster mods. I installed and played around with them today. They help with the distribution but I’m gonna have to do some pre-raid reading to get an idea of loots and specs.

/shrug,  Oh well. Whats the worst that could happen…

Its 12:50 (am) in the morning, This was meant to be a post for the 3rd Nov and for me its still the same day as that :P I had meant to write a post earlier. I logged in game to get some screenshots of my Warpstalker Enterprise when i had a /w from an ex-guildie needing help with an Stratholme, which led to a BRD run, then a Dire Maul run and then a heroic BM run. I had also agreed to help one of our guildies do her epic flight form but I had to pull out of that because my eyes and brain were rebeling and shutting down.

But I need to make a post for “today” and ill be back “tomorrow” to do another post!

Noobiewan Costume Worn by My Son

Noobiewan Costume Worn by My Son

The NoobieTech Noobiewan Halloween Mask and The Black Citadel T-shirt making a completely amazing get up for Halloween. (Actually my son wore a skeleton outfit for his nursery halloween party but was too warm to keep it on when he came back. And looking at the picture, I should have put a belt around the tshirt.)

Aloha People,

It’s November 1st 2008 and as such is the start of NaBloPoMo. With this in mind I have decided to start my return to blogging today and not when I get around to making new graphics and stuff. There’s alot to tidy up in the background and a few bits and pieces that i want to redo or remodel. I may put in a swimming pool or a gym but thats all in good time. For now though I am happy to say that I am back and planning to stay for a while.

I hope to write not only about my time playing Noobiewan but to also create new adventures for my character for you to enjoy. I’m likely to also throw in the occasional WoW inspired rewrite of a song sometimes too.

So I just want to do a quick round up of some of the changes that have happened since I last was writing here. Firstly, and most importantly, Noobiewan isn’t just Noobiewan anymore. He is The Incredible Noobiewan. I know I’ve had the film poster spoofs with that on but I’ve decided to make that the title of the Blog so I will be changing the banner shortly.

The Incredible Noobiewan

The Incredible Noobiewan

Next, I stepped down from being an Officer in The Black Citadel for health reasons however, I am planning on returning to that role as soon as I can. Here’s why: With the expansion coming the guild has been finding it harder and harder to do any raiding at all. They’ve only been able to get into Mount Hyjal once and that was with outside help to make up numbers. There have been a number of attempts to get the guild more focused by the Raidleaders and Officers. But in the end our main raidleader left the guild and I feel that I’ll be needed to help maintain moral until the expansion comes out and people pick themselves out of this slump. There have been reorganisations in guild structure and rewriting of the rules but it’s still the same ol’guild in the end. And there is hope.

Last night I logged on and, as usual, had nothing really to do. The zombie plague seemed to have phased out and the quests to stop the necropolis invasion had already been done. Only the new boss in Kara needed doing but I just couldn’t face that. I needed something fun. I needed Molten Core!

You see the achievement for MC was the only one that, for reasons unknown even to me, actually bothered me that it didn’t show as complete. I had slaughtered the Elemental Old God with 39 or my fellow guildmates and had the full Giantstalker Armour set to prove my time in that hellish hole. So it needed to be complete.

So I I asked one of my guildmates. and they said that they weren’t attuned to MC on that character. “Thats easy to sort out” said I, And soon, I was leading a small group through BRD to get the Core Fragment. We then went to kill the last boss and get the achievement for BRD. (Yay!). Heading back to the MC portal to then get to the MC attunment quest giver, I said why not see if we can get a group and clear MC (It was one of my more subtler moments). We managed to get hold of a total of 15 people (some swapped onto alts when needed) and we managed to fight ourway though MC. It was such a fun night. And the best bit for me is still when Ragnaros bursts up. He is still the coolest boss for me.

The Fire Lord himself!

The Fire Lord himself!

MC Completed!
MC Completed!

And so that was the end of that enjoyable evening which got me the achievement i was missing and also made me feel alittle better that the guild could still get together and so some fun things.

Hopefully I’ll be seeing you all again tomorrow.

Noobie's Core Hound from Molten Core

Noobie

I GOT IT!!!

Me, A druid named Evver and our Guild Hunter Mentor Deckland, ventured into MC and helped me get this fine beast. Tried to do it last night with a friend on her Druid (ty Starlett) but failed. But I wasn’t to give up!

Using the basic COA that was shown on BRK’s site we only changed a little by clearing teh elementals next to the ledge and adding the additional Hunter’s Misdirection and remembering to use deterence, we managed to get it.

Thanks to my guild for their support.

Will be working on a proper start very very soon but this just couldnt wait!

“Hmm”, thought Noobie, “I think those mobs must have past me by now…  I give it a little while longer”

RETURNING SOON!

Hey there people of the ‘Net.

Huntard.

I hate that term with a passion. Over the last 2 years it has grown from a term for a hunter who couldn’t play his class to being the term FOR the class!

I am not a Huntard!

And yes before any one starts, I have been known to jump down onto a mob and beat it to death with a two handed axe. That is a character decision. I could have defeated it in many ways. Use pet? Use traps? Shoot from distance with an array of different shots? I may not have done that but I at least know how to.

I have been in situations where I took an item not for stats but for the damn cool look of it or because of the sentimental aspect of the item in the context of warcraft lore. This doesn’t mean I’m a Huntard.

I use Blizzards talent calculators, the armory and websites such as be.imba.hu, wowwiki, wowhead and the many many excellent blogs out there to gain knowledge about my class and just because I sometimes try new things and they don’t always work, or I’m not completely geared up for the spec doesn’t make me a Huntard.

I am a Hunter.

I have pet control in combat, I provide Crowd Control for my group. I have DPS against the monsters I face. I have stocks of potions and bandages to prevent taking the healers time. I change Aspects to compliment my tactics within battles. I am armed with enough arrows not to run out in the middle of a fight. I cast Misdirection and Feign Death to manage the Aggro from an enemy. I play my class because I love it.

Aloha guys,

Haven’t been feeling well at all since sunday but, that has not stopped me from playing WoW in small doses (It’s Good Medicine!).

One of the Mentor’s in the guild is leveling and gearing his Warrior Tank atm and I said I would help. This meant doing Black Morass a few times. It was easy enough with our group, so easy in fact that we were starting to think of creative ways to alter the group roles around. They didn’t let me tank though.

The tank managed to get the rep he needed and I managed to get the Hourglass of the Unraveller. Yay!

Last night, The Black Citadel took on a new boss in The Eye, High Astromancer Solarian. And like Void Reaver this boss was alot of fun and went down for us on our second try. On the first try because of lag the Raidleader (Of all people!) didn’t runaway far enough when she was the bomb and took out most of us (including me). No Hunter loot.
But the Worldstorm Gauntlets, Void Star Talisman and the Boots of the Resilient.

And finally, the dumb hunter award goes to … Me. For not paying attention to where I was and plummeting from Aldor Rise to my bloody death in Lower City. Luckily a Guildie found me and danced on my corpse. They love me really.
