Hiya people,

With the loss of yet another Raid Leader and Officer from our guild, I decided to return back to the rank of Officer. Now this means that I’m having to help out alittle in raids doing thngs im not used to like being the loot master.

Noobiewan is now the Loot Master

Noobiewan is now the Loot Master

The role scares me because I don’t know what loot is good for what classes specs. Hunter loot I know and luckily I’m usually the only hunter in the run and have most of the loot that drops from the places we are raiding. But with all other classes I have no idea.

This for me causes a problem because our guild has a system where main specs roll first for an item followed by anyone wanting it for an off-spec should no main spec want it. What makes matters worse is the duel spec-ing that’s going to be brought in soon. My hunter brain can only take so much in at a time. It takes me ages to figure things out.

There’s only one way out! (I learned this one from a Mage!)

luckily have been given some help by Gormy and have been told to get Xloot and Xlootmaster mods. I installed and played around with them today. They help with the distribution but I’m gonna have to do some pre-raid reading to get an idea of loots and specs.

/shrug,  Oh well. Whats the worst that could happen…

Aloha guys,

Haven’t been feeling well at all since sunday but, that has not stopped me from playing WoW in small doses (It’s Good Medicine!).

One of the Mentor’s in the guild is leveling and gearing his Warrior Tank atm and I said I would help. This meant doing Black Morass a few times. It was easy enough with our group, so easy in fact that we were starting to think of creative ways to alter the group roles around. They didn’t let me tank though.

The tank managed to get the rep he needed and I managed to get the Hourglass of the Unraveller. Yay!

Last night, The Black Citadel took on a new boss in The Eye, High Astromancer Solarian. And like Void Reaver this boss was alot of fun and went down for us on our second try. On the first try because of lag the Raidleader (Of all people!) didn’t runaway far enough when she was the bomb and took out most of us (including me). No Hunter loot.
But the Worldstorm Gauntlets, Void Star Talisman and the Boots of the Resilient.

And finally, the dumb hunter award goes to … Me. For not paying attention to where I was and plummeting from Aldor Rise to my bloody death in Lower City. Luckily a Guildie found me and danced on my corpse. They love me really.

“Mebbe me fail… but da Amani empire… never gonna die.”

He used his last breath to make this declaration. The temple complex of Zul’Aman was now free of the evil practices of the Trolls. Noobiewan slumped to the ground and waited for one of the healers to come and heal his wounds with the power of the Light. Enterprise settled down next to his master and rested. It had been a long fight to get to here and a sudden mixture of exhaustion and excitement hit him suddenly forcing him to rest a moment. Across the platform the raids leader, the Gnome Pyromancer, Dizzywizzy was organising the rest of the party into moving the corpse of Zul’jin. The body of the once great Troll was being placed to be burned to cinders.

Closing his eyes, Noobiewan thought about the mission from the beginning. They had heard that the trolls were beginning sacrificial ceremonies as they entered the Complex. Time was against them. The group had made good speed and had managed to stop the Bear Spirits avatar from completing his sacrifice. With the Bear Spirit down the group rushed to stop the Eagle Spirit avatar. They had managed to get to the ceremony and prevent the dwarf held captive from being sliced open. The Lynx Spirit avatar would be the next one to stop. The toil of rushing to stop the first sacrifices proved to be too much and The Black Citadel party was close enough to hear the screams as the third member was killed. The last would have been slaughtered to the gods before they had dealt with the Lynx Spirit. Noobiewan recalled how he fought with new resolve from then to end the Trolls plans. Seperating the Dragonhawk Spirit’s link to its avatar, the group had then headed to the Temple of the Hex Lord.

The party was in full swing now with the victims of the Trolls voodoo, now cured, bringing supplies from the expedition camp out side the complex gates. Noobiewan and Enterprise moved to join the group. Picking up a mug of strong ale Noobiewan join in a small group where Pembious, a human warrior, was recalling the techniques he used against Malacrass. a small shiver crossed Noobiewan as he recalled when his soul was being drawn out to give the Hex lord his knowledge and skills. It would be a few weeks before the unsettling feeling left him completely. Noobiewan listened to the others who were talking about the last battle.

Zul’jin, now burning upon a pyre, earlier was standing atop the last temple surrounded by the last of the temple guards and the Spirits. Noobiewan played the images through behind his eyes.

“Everybody always wanna take from us. Now we gonna start takin’ back. Anybody who get in our way…gonna drown in their own blood! De Amani empire be back now…seekin’ vengeance. And we gonna start…with you!”

Thats how it began, the guards rushed but were taken down easily. Noobiewan sent off a volley of arrows to stop a Troll taking off a guild member’s head with an axe.

Pembious charged in with a warcry facing Zul’jin head on. The troll may have had only one arm but he was skilled with his blade and he knocked the warrior away. A cruel smile formed on his lips.

“Got me some new tricks…like me bruddah bear!”, with that he pulled power from the Bear Spirit and changed his form into that of a huge bear. He swiped a clawed paw towards the Druid Hasimina but it never had the chance to connect as Pembious’s sword connected first. The power of the Bear spirit could only hold out so long and soon Zul’jin summoned the powers from the Eagle, changing into an eagle and creating whirlwinds to throw the attackers around. Noobiewan almost lost consciousness after banging his head against the stone floor, A quick healing spell from Phaeria, a Priestess of the Light, brought him to his senses. The Mage’s Dizzywizzy and Nyriqo used their magical powers to keep the bird form low and the Paladin, Vackmeim assisted Pembious in attacking. The Draenei Shaman Goodlike call on a powerful totems  to draw mana to aid the magic users and to add elemental forces to the warriors attacks. The Eagle Spirit soon was powerless and Zul’jin changed back only to siphon powers from the Lynx Spirit. As a giant Lynx Zul’jin was fast. Noobiewan feigned death as a swipe collided with him and the Lynx went for another target turning his back on the hunter. The handle of Trollbane was in Noobiewan’s hands as he leapt into the fight with some melee action. He spun the axe in a technique called a Raptor Strike and jumped out to a distance to use the crossbow. After a few more minutes the Lynx Spirit left Zul’jin and in a weakend state he summoned the last Spirit to aid him. The Dragonhawk Spirit gave him a new form and jets of flame shot out of his dragonhawk beak. All the members were animated in dodging the flames and pushing forward the assault. Zul’jin was weakening it wouldn’t take long.

The Dragonhawk Spirit lost its grip in this world and left Zul’jin. Pembious struck and impaled the Troll through his heart. And he died with his final message. ”Mebbe me fail… but da Amani empire… never gonna die.”

The Night Elf hunter nodded to his pet and together they headed toward the main gates of Zul’Aman and to the Gryphon Master. He would want to get an Inn and rest up but as he passed an empty hut he saw a bow inside. Despite the troll decorations, Noobiewan could see it was a fine bow and very powerful. He picked it up and tested the weight and balance. Then notching an arrow, he then targeted a wooden statue. The arrow shot off with more power then could be sent through the current weapon he used. So Noobiewan took the Ancient Amani Longbow as a reminder of the evenings adventure and continued to head out of Zul’Aman.

-End

The Black Citadel Defeat Zul\'jin

Aloha,

Yeah we cleared ZA finally. That last boss was a pain in the Primal Nethers and had beaten us on many occasions but now he’s toast! Gratz to my other guildies who were fantastic! Concentration was constant and we even had a lot of laughs along the way.

Cya next time!

Aloha Fellow Adventurers!

Last night I returned to the Troll temple’s of Zul’Aman with Noobiewan.
Having sorted out my specs earlier in the week I was raiding with fingers crossed (not easy to do, thats for sure!)
As with my previous visit here we were doing the bosses in the order: Bear, Eagle, Lynx and Dragonhawk.
A view to Die for!

It was the last of those four, Jan’alai that provided to be too tough for our last raid. But we knew the tactics and had a prepared and experienced group.
Once the fight started, my first job was to place a frost trap after the hatcher had passed by and then Kill the Hatcher when 4 sets of eggs had been hatched. The frost trap is to slow the birds enough for the other AoE members to kill them. Then my attention is on the Boss until the next round of hatching begins. Throw in the Bomb dodging phase and its a busy boss fight for yours truly!
Last time we had serious problems with sorting out the hatcher before he opened too many eggs and we were swamped by birds. This time, we were like a well oiled and maintained machine of Bird God Avatar killing!
We did so good that all birds were dead before his enrage!
So another couple of Badges of Justice for me and …wait! whats this?!? Arrow-fall Chestguard! for me?
Thank you!

And it matches my leggings too :P

Would love to report that we managed to progress much further but the next boss, Hex Lord Malacrass, was just a bit too much for us.

At the end, I sat and thought about how things went. Raid leader said I was the same as the Off-tank Druid and the DPS warlock of the group. A huge improvement.
I consider myself no longer the Noob I started off as. I use Add-on’s, I use Macro’s, I use information to build a good spec and manage my gear to suit and I’m a front line member of The Black Citadel’s raiding team.

Afterward, was in the city of Shattrath, celebrating when Softi logged on right next to me!!!
Noobie caught doing his victory dance and running away!

So remember be careful when you Dance naked! you never know who’s going to spawn in next to you!

Until next time,

Love Noobie

Aloha Raider of the Lost Instance,

Today I’m taking a well deserved break after two nights of full-on concentration Raiding. On wednesday was my first run through the jungle trolls last bastion, Zul’Aman.

Next stop... Jungle Trolls and animal Gods

Although I had been reading up the tactics from Wow-wiki all day, very little was going in from there, so I had to rely on my wit and hunter smarts.

Yeah, I died a few times.

But we did manage to get a few of the bosses down!

The Bear Lord- Narorakk

The Eagle Lord- Akil’zon

The Lynx Lord- Halazzi

We tried to get the fourth one- The Dragonhawk Lord- Jan’alai but we were unable to send him to his grave.
He\'s dead Jim!

It was a fun time and I managed not to cause any problems at all. The fun continued the next night as The Black Citadel did its first ever raid in to The Eye- Tempest Keep

We only had one goal, Get to Void Reaver.

After a few teething mistakes with the group pulls, we managed to fight our way deep into the chambers of the Keep and after a few hours we saw our Target.
Fel Reaver\'s big brother
At this point one of our tanks had to go and was replaced with another hunter. The big brother of Fel Reaver is supposed to be one of the easiest fights but it took us a few attempts to get used to how he fights. On one attempt they decided to reset the fight, I Feigned Death but Voidy fired off one last Arcane Orb, which decided to land on Noobie. He got me!

We decided to give it one more shot after our usual end time arrived. Im glad we did as it went perfect, and soon another victory could be added to the guild roll of bosses down.

Another victory for TBC

The shoulder token dropped for T5, but I knew I didn’t have enough but I did start the big up high at 500DKP. It went for 1850DKP to One of the hunters of the Guild, Deckland. Rift Stalker Mantle are now his! WOOT!

All in all, a very good couple of days but very mentally draining.
See you soon,
Love Noobie

Aloha people,

Just a quick post. Last night I was allowed to go into SSC. The whole night was spent on trying to get Hydross the Unstable down. Our first attempt was fantastic and we got him down to 2%. That was my first time in SSC and first on him too. Unfortunately the rest of the attempts weren’t as good.
The whole night was fun but the funniest incident happened when we where calling it a night.
Noobiewan fell of the first lift and landed on a small ledge, he proceeded to jump off to his bone crunching death landing back on the lift. Enter one healer class who promptly began a resurrection. While the lift was moving. Noobie clicked on accept also while said lift was moving up. In the space of time it too to respawn to where the hearler was, the healer and lift had continued to rise… Noobie was suddenly aware of a lack of footing below him.

Aloha and welcome back to my Karazhan weekend!

Part 2: Sunday Night

I had got Noobiewan prepared for the remaining part of the raid earlier in the day and had positioned him just outside the side gate on the small foot bridge, so when I logged in I had nothing to do but wait for the rest of the group and for the raid invites to begin.
Warlor must have had a similar idea. He was sitting right in front of Noobiewan with the next to his name. I did what anybody should have done in that situation. I used self made emotes :P And our Raid Leader Gormy joined in too!
Chat cut and pasted to show the horrible but funny things we did to Warlor.

Im glad to say that Warlor was not too upset about this :P

Now once we were all assembled (the group had to take a few substitutions, we ended up with 4 Paladins), we made our way through the back door to the Master’s Terrace for the fight with Nightbane.
I have to point out that there are a couple of changes to our group. The run to Nightbane was easily done and we were soon buffed up and ready to go. Before the Boss was summoned the Main Tank started the sequence showing the creation of Nightbane for our entertainment and for a quest he had.
Its a shame that a creature as mighty as Arcanagos is transformed for trying to save lives. Burned from the inside out. Time to end that misery and put him to rest once and for all (or until the next raid that is :P).
During the first phase of the fight I stayed well back, Misdirecting aggro onto the Main Tank and making sure to LOL when everyone was feared (except also the Main Tank who was stance dancing).
During the second phase we all huddled around the Raid Leader. for some limited AOE I placed down a trap. the undead poised no difficulty and the phases repeated until the boss collapsed.
There was nothing of value amongst the loot except Badges, so the loot ended up with me to disenchant this time.
We ventured back into the halls of Karazhan and made our way to the Celestial Watch and Netherspite. We had a few small incidents that caused us to be delayed. the first was while heading up the levels of the library. We were just about to start pulling mobs that were around the corner when I see Warlor take a few steps back, go through the ONLY gap in the railings and plummet down to the hard stones below. Splat! I nearly wet my Hunter leggings! From where I was standing I had the perfect view of the full thing.
The second delay was the Karazhan bug where mobs from areas above you get aggro’d and come to join the fight. This caused a wipe. Thank the Warlock for a Soulstone. Picked our corpses of the floor, dust them down and we were back in action.
I would die 2 more time that night. Both of the times against Netherspite. Unfortunately this happens most times I face him. I know the tactic’s, I’ve faced him enough to know the fight like the back of my Axe but just can’t keep Noobie alive. I think it’s the AOE he does in the Portal stages, as thats usually when I die. That and the Blue Portal. However, The Nether dragon did fall during our second attempt on him and once again nothing dropped for our Night Elf Hero except some more badges.
Only 1 boss left to do. Prince Malchezaar. Master of Karazhan and member of the Burning Legion.
Now this fight usually takes 2 or 3 attempts to put him in a grave but us proud members of The Black Citadel were feeling lucky. During phases 1 and 2 of this fight It was my mission to keep an eye on the falling Demons the Prince summons on to the battlefield and make sure i know where to run to if one lands on us. So that everyone can see where I am and run to safety a large green triangle is placed above my head. There is a Star on the head of the Raid leader and this is to make sure that everyone knows where the 30 yards radius of the prince is. STAND BEHIND THE STAR!
So fight begins and I’m firing at Prince and watching the skies of the Netherspace. Nothing falls near us but they do land in a way to trap us in if we need to move. Not that I needed to worry or anything, we had him down super fast and first try!
And the Drops! Well our Raid Leader was happy, Nathrezim Mindblade dropped. And for me.
Just the Helm of the Fallen Hero
WooooooT! I did a lap of honor and by the time I had finished everyone had used a mage portal and the portal itself was gone.
One HS trip to Shattrath City and I was the owner of the T4 Helm: Demon Stalker Greathelm.

Now just need the luck to continue when I see Grull and Maggy :P And that was my weekend in Karazhan. A little long winded in places but I’m finding my feet, dammit!
So until I write about raiding again, I wish you happy raiding Readers, and may your loot be plenty!

Love Noobie

Aloha!

This weekend I joined 9 other members of The Black Citadel to bravely enter the dark and forbidden halls of the Magi Medivh. Our quest: To cleanse the tower of the spirits of the past and force out those who would seek Karazhan’s treasures (and to do some major looting on the way :P). Our Journey would be split over the weekend.

Part 1: Saturday Night

Things started off well, Our first Victim was to be the Huntsman, Attumen and the horse, Midnight. As usual there was the mob clearing to be done. The raid symbols were allocated to our guild’s standard pattern.

Skull

The Skull: Given to be the Main Tank’s Target. This target goes down first unless otherwise stated.

Cross

The Cross: Given to the groups second Tank. This target goes down after Skull. My good friend Warlor was assigned this Icon.

Star

The Star: Usually given to a Mage. But used for Shackling in this raid.
MoonThe Moon: Used by our Raid Leader for Banishing or Enslaving. Depends on the situation and Mobs.
TriangleThe Triangle: This was used by everyone’s favorite Melee Hunter for Freeze Trapping.
DiamondThe SquareCircleUsed for anything else that needed to be marked like patrolling Mobs.
So back to the Attumen fight. Now, I’m assuming you know the tactics for his fight but if not the Wowwiki page here has the details. Noobiewan stayed at max range and fired into Midnight until Attumen saddled up then DPS’d until the Huntsman fell. Noobie could have spent some of his DKP on Stalker’s War Bands but Noobie was already waering some. So of to the Raid Disenchanter they went.

Our next Goal was the Banquet Hall and the Steward Moroes. but first we had to clear a route to the room and this meant controlled pulling of groups don the stairs. All went well until our MT became over eager and pulled a group of elites that is normally left. Wipe!

Not to worry, the rest of our route to Moroes went without a hitch. And so did the battle. I have to say that my role in the fight was to pick up Lord Crispin Ference and keep him frozen until he was dead. On previous attempts he would usually break at least 1 trap early. Not this time! When Moroes went down there was 1 guest left so the Raid leader called to reset the mob to remove it from the area. Just because I could, I frost trapped the mob before leaving :P
The only loot I wanted didnt drop and that would have been Mongoose Enchant Formula.

Making our way to Maiden of Virtue was easy. Those ladies of the night can’t stop Noobie, and we were soon reaping the rewards of a sucessful Maiden kill. Nothing for Noobie here but a couple of Badges of Justice and some extra DKP in the bank.

Next was Noobiewan’s best moment of the Night!
The Opera Event
There was no problems getting to this boss fight either, just good ol’ DPS and good manual control of Enterprise. I began to think that even the weekend raiders could consider Karazhan on farm status. Now when we reached Barnes I had my fingers crossed. On Noobie’s back was a Crystalforged War Axe. I hate this axe. I only have this axe to stop the random people whispering me from all over the world of Azeroth. Before that axe I was using Gorehowl because when it dropped, i was the only one who wanted it and it was better then what I had at the time. After receiving yet another random whipser saying “Gorehowl, explain!” I was so pissed off I DE’d it right there and then. I had taken enough from them and broke. Now I had my fingers crossed for the event which a new axe could be dropped.

We went in. Barnes piped up to stir up the audience.

‘Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to this evening’s presentation!’
‘Tonight, we plumb the depths of the human soul as we join a lost, lonely girl trying desperately, with the help of her loyal companions, to find her way home.’
‘But she is pursued by a wicked, malevolent crone!’
‘Will she survive? Will she prevail? Only time will tell. And now: On with the show!’

“YES!” I cried out. The Wizard of Oz Event. Now to focus on the battle. For me the fight was slow. Dorothee was my target, being the backing for the second tank but she was hardly dying fast. When she did kick the bucket the rest followed within a matter of minutes. The Crone fight was just a piece of cake, run, shoot, run, shoot etc etc. She was no trouble. And did she drop it.
on Teamspeak I heard, “Oh Noobie’s gonna be happy.”
Oh Hell yeah baby! It Dropped! Legacy! The shoulders Noobie was already wearing dropped too.

While our druid stealthed and opened the the back door, Noobiewan was already making tracks for the front door and around to the side door of Karazhan. The Curator was to be our next victim. However our priest seemed to die with every group of mobs we pulled to get closer to him. I think the levels of Blood in her Coffee system were getting too high. We have to remind her about every 30 min about her coffee. The Boss however was another pushover. Astral Flares went down super fast with him following soon after. His loot included the Gloves of the Fallen Defender which I’m glad to say went to my friend Warlor who has been after them for some time.

Moving quickly on we cleared our way through the Library and onto the next boss, ghost of Medivh’s father, Neilas Aran. I love this fight, trapped in a small room just throwing everything you have while you try to keep health below his mana level and watching out for the Blizzard and Flame Wreath. Its quick and frantic and lots of fun.
From this boss Noobiewan received Steelspine Faceguard.
We did 2 more bosses that night, we lead ourselves to Illhoof to quickly get wiped. But only because of Disconnections at the wrong time. It happens to the best and to us :P
Second time though he was hit and hit hard. He tried to sacrifice Noobiewan only once this time. I felt like he didn’t love me anymore. But then he dropped Girdle of the Prowler. I was the only one who could bid so won it for 10 DKP
We would normally have called it a night but I managed to convince the Raidleader to go and do the Chess Event. Its basically free loot and a fun way to end a night.
I managed to use a new piece for me this time: The Water Elemental. And the Boots that Noobie was wearing dropped! Fiend Slayer Boots. So another item for a Hunter is sent to the Disenchanter.

And then we called it a night. We would resume on Sunday.
And I will try to have Part 2 posted tomorrow. This Blog post was a bit longer then I expected :P
